    this gaveseveral hundred feet, anas still leadingseveral lengths whenentered rocstartled the city!down the main streetthundered, while the people, who all hated the provost marshal,  barely misseozen collisions, and galloped into the depot, where the train was just readhrough the crowdfari dared; then dismounted and madash forcan guess how the people gave room foild hatless soldier, flourishinuge revolver.

    persevering davy was right behind, anadface about and keep him off witas not loaded, butdid not kno away from him, threateningpull the triggerhe laid  crowd begantakepart, andhoot and jeer the provost marshal.“hurrah for the soldier!” they cried.“down with the provost marshal!”“shoot him, soldier, shoot him!”“who arrested poor tommy jingles?”“davy mcgregor, the black-hearted provost.”“hurrah for the boyblue!”

    so they keptup, gettinghis way and pushing and shovingthey became rough, andi backedthe stepsthe platform, they were steppinghis toes, pulling his coat-tails and twisting him about like  conductor gave the signal, and witast cheer from the crowd, the train pulled outi metrecruits laterth wheroughtsturdy lads into the regiment and told all about it, the colonel said, “well done, simon, andthis rathink you have well earneecond leaveabsence.”
